Also, the studio that made Homefront is the same company that made Frontlines: Fuel of War. That game was pretty fun, but seemed incomplete and had control issues, I remember.

Sorry console gamers, none for you, but for the true FPS gamer out there that understands the necessity of a mouse and keyboard, here are some console commands you can use when you enable the console.

Make sure you disable VAC before attempting to mod the game so you don’t get banned.

You may recognize many of these as the same codes from COD4. A few might not work, and some are pretty much useless. If you try to change the map when you’re not “the server”, it will just crash your game and you’ll have to restart. Making some textures invisible makes it hard to walk around. Have fun.

You don’t have to minimize the game to access the console. Even if you can’t see it, as long as you see your mouse cursor, you can type the commands. Start with the tilda or F2 or whatever it is you use to bring up the console, then type away and hit enter. The affects take effect immediately.

Take a quick look on ebay and you’ll find plenty of results for Ghost’s balaclava. One of them even includes a cheesy hooded jacket and knee pads for a ridiculous price, but I see nothing that even comes close to the detail and quality of KChanko’s gear.

The beta is out right now. You’re stuck with one game type and one map right now, but it’s a big map and, wait for it, the server browser is included. There are hundreds of servers up right now from all over the world. BFBC2 is, without a doubt, 10x better than Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

After seeing the aimbot and wall hacks proliferate throughout the Modern Warfare 2 servers, I decided to find out just how easy is it to get these hacks and what kind of people actually buy these things. I normally use the guided missile or Counter UAV with the Harrier and either the Pavelow or Chopper Gunner, but I decided to mix it up one match and selected Harrier, Emergency Airdrop, and Pavelow. The kills needed for these three are 6, 7, and 8. When I got all three in a row, I got a new title. I say challenges because I think it’s a challenge to complete the tasks in order to get all the titles and emblems. And they’re hidden because there’s no instructions on how to unlock all the titles and emblems!

The only useful text chat is the friendly team chat. The public chat that defaults to the ‘t’ button is useless. The only thing you’ll see there is whining, complaining, and other types of spam. I found it not only useless and annoying, but distracting sometimes. 1/20th of all text is team chat, so it’s much less intrusive. Everything in the configuration file I describe below is user interface stuff. There’s no hacks or cheats available here.
