Free website monitoring from all over the world
There are quite a few online companies that offer to monitor your website and alert you when it becomes inaccessible from different places around the globe. They send you email and SMS messages along with reporting features. And there are a few good ones that offer this service in a limited function for free.
Defend your inbox with disposable email addresses
Sign up and pick a username. All your mail will be forwarded. For a monthly fee you can choose your own domain, but the basic service is free.
Don’t ever forget that Microsoft hates all forms of freedom
I saw this in pdf version on antitrust.slated.org, and I felt compelled to share. Microsoft sees the growing possibilities for open web standards and interoperability, but they don’t agree with the need for change. Yet they push Silverlight? None of us should ever forget: No matter what their marketing arm spins for us, their main agenda will always be sabotage.
Create network diagrams and flow charts for free online
The one microsoft application I always come back to because it’s actually the best offering in its field is Visio. There are replacements, but they don’t fill in any missing gaps or fix broken functionality – they’re just replacements. There is, however, one thing missing from my Visio, and that’s being able to share it easily.

Recession vs. Linux
The food and restaurant industry might be down across the board, but some areas seem to be doing quite fine. Amazon is reporting record sales this year. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/daily-news/081230-Amazon-Reports-Record-Holiday-Sales/
I was in a mall today and saw a line 20 deep in the food court for Taco Bell. People gotta eat, and they need their latest and greatest software too. I’m sure the net is lagging behind the economy, but in some regards I guess it might not turn out to be a bad year for Linux. I’m sure the usual suspects will be feeling a nasty bite soon and although they might not really have their hearts behind anything that has to do with free, according to Bruce Byfield, “when the talk turns to free and open source software (FOSS), suddenly the mood brightens. Whether their concern is the business opportunities in open source or the promotion of free software idealism, experts see FOSS as starting from a strong base and actually benefiting from the hard times expected next year.” http://itmanagement.earthweb.com/osrc/article.php/3793286/Linux+in+2009:+Recession+vs.+GNU.htm
What happened to this free space-themed game?
It was a free space-themed action MMO, but not like those cheap web based hacks that are complete garbage. It had PVE and plenty of PVP. Ok, it wasn’t all that great, and I only played a little, but it was the only MMO I liked. I can’t stand World of Warcraft or any of those types of games. Maybe someone should coin the phrase, “mmo-lite”. There I just did. All I can find now is a generic description of it. If anyone recognizes this, they should be able to tell me what the heck happened to it.
Anonymous MMO Online is an action based Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) 3D Space Shooter. In Anonymous MMO Online, players can pilot their own space fighter ships (Gears) on an imaginary planet and upgrade skills or the Gear itself.
3D Space Shooting MMO
In Anonymous MMO, gamers have full control over the Gear’s control making it very different from the traditional RPG’s mouse click control method. This is a game based on Role-Playing Game (RPG) level concepts, but the fun and action of a First Person Shooter (FPS).
