How to add the google software repository to Mint/Ubuntu

Use sudo to become root.

Now use wget to download google’s key and pipe it into apt-key.

Add the repository to /etc/apt/sources.list

Now update and install away….

If you want a simple way to browse the repositories, try aptitude.

I had to become root rather than using sudo in front of the wget. I don’t know why; I didn’t take the time to figure it out. I just used sudo to become root without having to know the root password.

  1. Howdy! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one?

    Thanks a lot!
