Apple ipad is nothing more than mobile itunes
====What it can do====
sync to iTunes and play crappy iPhone games.
====What it can’t do====
Make phone calls, easily access Office documents, connect to Exchange email, VPN, save files, and anything outside of Apple’s locked down environment.
The sad part is, we’re conditioned to Apple’s dictatorship. There’s no expectation of an Apple device to allow you to do what you want with it. We’ve never known freedom with any apple device, so why should we expect it now? The name even sounds like an
Given today’s instant response to Apple’s hotly anticipated, yet inexplicably named “iPad,” one would think there are absolutely no women working in the upper echelons in Cupertino. And as a quick click on Apple’s executive bios page reveals, one would be right. Still, as technology-entrenched as Apple’s male monopoly may be, at least one guy must know a woman.
Basically it’s just another way for you to spend a lot of money up front for an over priced, over hyped piece of Apple hardware so that you can continue to spend more money over time. It’s like a drip bag for your wallet.
Give me a real netbook any day of the week. Access to my Google apps and a VPN connection is all I need. The touch screen is nice, but I just can’t get on the Apple band wagon. I’ve tried, believe me I’ve tried. I liked the iPod, and everyone knows world-changing that device was. I got a kick out of hacking my iPod mini to run another OS and play doom. but I felt that I got more bang for the buck out of other manufacturer’s mp3 players that didn’t interfere so much with my use of their hardware. I’ve never had much use for iTunes. I’m always afraid of syncing because they periodically ‘upgrade’ without your permission, stripping out functionality or delete some of my files that I’ve backed up. iPod’s have now tumbled down in price, but in the beginning they were over priced too. The difference is their usefulness justified their existence.
So, to anyone out there rushing out to buy the super sized itouch, you’re an idiot. Get yourself fixed right now. Perhaps if apple’s next flop is the iNeuter, you’ll actually get it done.
